Royal York Crescent Christmas Fayre Sunday 4 December

A reminder that we're running a stall at the brilliant RYC Christmas Fair, selling home-made goodies of all kinds. This is such a great festive event with lots to do, see and buy - and this year it'll be bigger than ever, with several choirs performing Christmas music and a fun dog show.

We welcome donations of all kinds of home baking - cakes, biscuits, mince pies, Christmas cakes or puddings, edible tree decorations - or jams, chutneys, mincemeat, brandy butter, Christmas crafts - even a prettily-tied bunch of holly or mistletoe from your garden. It'll all add to the festive home-made goodies on offer and raise funds for Clifton WI and our chosen charity for 2017.

Please bring any non-perishable donations to the next WI meeting on Wednesday 30 November, or if you can't make the meeting - or if you're kindly doing some fresh baking - then you can just bring your goodies along on Sunday morning - Sally and Gill will be setting up from 10am and the fair opens at 11. You'll find our stall opposite no. 20 Royal York Crescent.

If you have a problem getting your donations to us either on Wednesday or Sunday, please email thecliftonwi@gmail.com and Sally or Gill will get back to you to arrange an alternative.

It would be hugely helpful if you could bring your donations in cardboard boxes or other disposable packaging but if this isn't feasible then any tins or other containers you leave with us can be collected at the January meeting.

Clifton WI members like to get out and about in smaller groups for outings and visits.   We have some planned dates and ideas so do come along to our next meeting on April 26th or look out for your next newsletter in your inbox for further details. 🌸 👣 🎭 ♣🍲🚶🌉 In May a group are heading to Hanham Court Gardens, in July we have our annual meeting 'on the hoof' when we go for a walk ending in a local pub.  In addition, some will be going to find out a bit more of the shady history of life in Bedminster on a guided walk and we are also thinking of planning a visit to the hidden parts of Clifton Suspension Bridge.   This is in addition to monthly meetings and all our social groups getting together for theatre trips, meals or to review books and play a variety of games. July 26th our summer walk and pub visit

  For our July meeting at Clifton WI we like to get out and about.   This time we are heading to the Harbour We will meet outside the Nova Scotia Pub at the far end of the harbour at 7.00pm on Weds 26th July.  There is parking in this area in the evening for those who will be driving or sharing lifts. We aim to walk around a route chosen by 2 of our members and return to the pub for a drink at the end.  It will not be the complete harbour walk  Should you not want to join us for the walk but would like to come along any way, please head to the pub for appx 8.15 - 8.30(ish) Visitors are welcome to join us but we do request a payment of £5.00 cash.  This can be a good way to meet some of us Clifton WI members without having to go to a meeting in the hall as your first step.

Sparklers & Bubbly

  Join us on 29 November for our next monthly meeting! We will hear from Gordon Young about the Avon Gorge, Clifton Suspension Bridge, and even relive the spectacular 2015 fireworks display!  Additionally, our lovely Clifton WI is celebrating 15 years at our November meeting. We will be celebrating with sparklers and a glass of bubbly, so make sure you join us for a very lovely evening.  As always, we will be meeting in the rear hall of Alma Church at 7.30pm.
